Fickleness

Fickleness

Lying on the sandy beach
Or next to a swimming pool
In the searing summer sun;
Sweating, blistering,
Oh to be cold, oh to be cool!

Braving the open air
In the icy winter cold;
Wrapping up from head to foot,
Frozen extremities,
Oh to be warm, oh to be hot!

Characterized by erratic changeableness or instability, especially with regard to affections or attachments; capricious.

About adeeyoyo

I am a middle-aged South African woman, living in Johannesburg. I began writing poetry towards the end of May 2010. I love animals – sometimes more than people!

    I’m a Capricorn and so caprice is my natural mien.

    It’s the egg streams one doesn’t like!

    It is so true that deprivation of something – be it heat or cold – makes one want it. Then it is SO pleasant until one gets too much and wants the opposite again!

    I go through this every winter and every summer in Oklahoma. Winters are freezing – summers are boiling. Yikes!
