When Love Leaves
When Love Leaves
Colour faded from my world,
But I was blind,
Too caught up in life
To see the signs.
Taxi mom, fetch and carry
To and fro – way to go.
Romance had left long before
Love went out the door.
You held my love captive
In your heart;
It fought to break free
And returned to me.
When trust is broken
The bond is gone;
Nothing can cement the cracks,
There’s no going back.

It can happen so easily
You’re so right, Cindy. Many, many similar stories.
it does…i have seen a few families that healed afterwards but for the most part, no…i think you nailed it with the line about romance leaving long before love…romance is so huge…not just sex, but intimacy, putting ht eother before you…
Yes, I agree with you. I think one of the parties had already distanced himself – in his head – and may not even have been aware of it.
sad but so true for many
Yes I’m afraid so, Sidey.
your words have a lovely flow to match the image,
wisely done,
hard to be romantic all the time,
love, tolerance, and responsibility are factors in the end to keep a family….
u write a wide range of topics, so cool to read u.
Thank you, Jingle, for all the compliments. You are so kind, my friend. I think caring goes a long way too.
And it can happen so quickly
Yes, sometimes we’re too busy to see the signs – or too trusting.
…sometimes we see, but choose not to…..I did something in Afrikaans today….I`ll try a translation and post it tomorrow or the day after…
That’s also true…!

Why don’t you post an English translation underneath the Afrikaans on the same blog. Some things get lost in translation and quite a few of us understand the ‘taal’. Take care.
Tragically true. One cannot repair a shattered piece of priceless porcelain.
Yes, I don’t think things will ever be the same – or very rarely.
But God can… the great reconciler
