Come, Summer, Come
Come, Summer, Come
Come, summer, come
The cold is death;
Breathe your warm breath
Of life into the earth.
Send the wind
To drive the rain
So the dormant seeds
Can spring to life again.
Plants in bud,
Fresh leaves of green,
The sweetest scents
Of a world washed clean.

I was thinking this morning that this must be the worst winter I have ever lived through, I feel as though it has sucked the life out of my body and my soul.
I agree, Cin, and how!
we are in the middle of the hottest summer we have ever had…so be carefull what you wish for…nice verse….
Well… Cin and I (and others, I’m sure) are agreed that this is our coldest winter *shivers*
Beautiful pic and poem, Adee. I’m sure you in the colder parts of SA can’t wait for Summer. I’m quite content with cooler weather here at the moment. Have a great weekend. Hugs xx
Hi AD, lovely to see you here; I’ve missed you. It has really been a cold winter this year. When I look at your temperatures I get so homesick! Thanks for the visit and comment. Enjoy your weekend too. [hugs] xxx
Yay! I found you. Thanks for the trail of breadcrumbs.
I really appreciate all the kind comments that you’ve left on my posts, so sorry that I was not able to return the favour while your WP account wasn’t talking to Blogger.
This is a lovely verse, it should be set to music…it has the feel of a song to me.

Thanks, C, for the visit. I’m glad you found the way. Thanks too for the nice comment.
I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy to see the sun shining this morning, and to be able to wear a short-sleeved top and NO jersey or jacket!
*happy sigh* and we’re in for a wonderfully warm weekend too.
Halfy holds thumbs as she wanders out again
You are so lucky, Halfy! Today’s still freezing although it’s ‘supposed’ to be warmer. Hold thumbs for tomorrow…
This is wonderful … know you guys are having a tough winter, so completely understandable.
Here in the South Bay area (south of San Francisco, CA, USA) it’s just 61 today… has been boringly temperate… not complaining…and soon we’ll roast our way through the end of September and into October. Sigh!
P.S.: Love the pup.
Thanks for the visit Jaimie. Human beings are funny things, lol. They are never satisfied… Thanks for saying what part of the world you’re from.
The pup was about 9 months old then and went on to become a Breed Champion, qualified Companion Dog and was a C-Class Obedience competitor.
Oh my, how I long for summer too…it’s just been too long, I feel like I have been hibernating all too long!! Wonderful poem my friend x
I so agree, Buttercup. Thanks for liking my poem!
great piece.
