Aftermath
Aftermath
Nightmare in the morning,
Children’s voices crying,
Adult voices calling…
,
Thick dusty fog,
Glimpses swept away
By the waves of smog…
,
The earth has shaken,
Nothing is the same,
Buildings have fallen…
,
Footsteps running
This way and that,
Terror and scurrying…
,
Angels of mercy
Arrive at the scene;
Rescue work begins…

And Mother Earth shrugs …
Morning adee.
Just so… Morning Cindy!
So sad and painful. Lovely poem Adee x
Thanks Amanda. I’m afraid I couldn’t get it to go the way I wanted it to. Nevermind, one day I’ll give it another try… xxx
have never had to live through an earth quake…several floods and hurricanes…i think it would be rather terrifying…thanks goodness for those that do relief work…and come to help
Very frightening… All rescue workers in whatever disasters, are really angels to put others’ lives above their own!
Nature’s awful response to our follies…
I believe so too, Deosatyakam! Man’s thoughtless greed is responsible for more than we realise…
this may be harder to write if you have never been through one
i’m so grateful i’ve never been in a disaster like that
Me too Sidey. It must be really a nightmare! That’s why I wrote it from an onlooker’s point of view…
