Blindfold of Lies
~
He concocted a blindfold of lies
A fabricated web of art
Quite superfluous at the time
‘Cos there are none so blind
As those who will not see
And the wearer was me

Trouble is, what you don’t see, you feel deeply, Denise. I hope the pain lessens soon
John
No, John, it’s over and done with. I was just thinking back to what a fool I was.
Maybe you didn’t see what you knew would be painful.
I think I only saw what I wanted to see, Maxi.
Living well is the best “revenge.”
Yessss, indeed, Nancy!
As long as we don’t blindfold ourselves from the truth, we eventually see the light! Again, as usual, thought-provoking. Nice post.
That’s exactly what I did (idiot that I am). Thanks, Jack.
The consolation is that lies have a way of catching up from behind and biting one in the tail! Sooner or later …
Hahaha, Col. That’s exactly what happened!
A hard lesson that many of us learn, get over and get happy again. May Karma find him.
Yes, indeed, Totsymae, I have done just that! Thanks for your visit and comment.
it becomes easy to see what we want…and feel like such a fool after…sorry you fell prey…
I learnt a lesson, Brian.
It’s easy to fall victim and see what we want to see Denise, so don’t feel too bad, it happens to us all from time to time; you eventually saw the light and that’s what matters. God Bless.
Such a painful lesson, Barb, but I needed it! Thank you and bless you too.
I think we are all blind from time to time
Yes we are, Bb. We expect others to be honest with us which isn’t always the case.
Very clever poem adeeyoyo – well done.
Thanks, Gabe. Is that a kookaburra? I love him!!!
I am a kookaburra, indeedy
What a beautiful little bird – bit military-looking? Thanks!
haha – does look a bit military with the head turn – he had just had a bird bath and that is why the feathers were all fluffed up
They have very sharp beaks (meat eaters).
‘Cos there are none so blind
As those who will not see’ – so true. I know so many people who are guilty of this. I have been guilty of this myself. It is always good when that light comes back on!
Yes, I was so blind, I wouldn’t/couldn’t see! I can’t believe it now, lol!
