Promises
.
Clouds as light as air
Sail across the sky,
Voyagers of discovery
As in years gone by.
.
Whispers of pink appear,
Murmurs of lilac too,
Gold and silver highlights,
Lowlights of purplish-blue.
.
Farewell you travellers
Way up on high, adieu;
I wish you a safe journey,
As you fade into the blue.
.
NB – One of my favourite poets is back here. Enjoy!

very colourful..I wish that was me fading into the blue and not sitting here surrounded by ice
Never mind, Patrecia, your summer’s on it’s way – it won’t be long now…
Your prose is sooo inviting, Denise … buuut I ain’t ready … lots more to do…
Blessings – Maxi
Oh Maxi, I didn’t think I was ready either, or ever would be for that matter. Anyway it may not work out…
Head in the clouds, today?
I think I’m coming down to earth, Col, hopefully not with a bump!
I could half go to sleep Denise. Such a calming picture.
Thank you
John
It is very calming to lie back and watch the clouds and, maybe, doze a little… Glad you enjoyed it, John.
Love all the colours – beautiful and serene…
Yes, Ruth, pastels before the big display at sunset…
Sail on, Denise. Lovely flow . . .
Thanks, Nancy.
Beautiful poetry, yet again/
Thank you, AD. I’m enjoying visiting you over at LD. You always write so well and such interesting posts too.
I took a little trip with those clouds through your lovely peaceful words. Thanks, Dee!
Wouldn’t it be great if we really could, Paula!
You don’t think I really did? Come over here and join me – or should I say UP here?
Very peaceful and inviting. I love to watch the clouds float by.
As do I, Jeannie! Such a wonderful array of shapes and, at certain times of the day, such beautiful colours.
Beautiful poem, Denise, I especially liked the middle stanza’s descriptive colors.
Thanks, Jake. I actually wrote the middle stanza first.
Great poem..can I cash in my frequent flyer credits here..?
Bless You
paul
Thank you, Paul. Unfortunately frequent flyer credits are only accepted on the cumulonimbus line which will be in operation during the summer months.
Lovely colours.
I think so too, Inzwakazi.
so muc to see in the clouds…and to say of them…beautiful capture…i like the thought that they are travelers as well on this road with us…
Thank you, Brian. I love to ‘see’ pictures in their changing shapes.
and hopefully not all promises are just blowing in the wind…smiles…
Yes, I hope not. Airy fairy promises would be such a disappointment…
Denise, you might be talking about our English winter skies! Wonderful poem.
I’m glad you also experience the lovely colours that reflect on and in the clouds, Kate.
Lovely, I agree with Kate, we’ve had some lovely flecks of pink here recently – I love the movement in your poem
Thanks for your input, Nicola, and also for your compliments.
Thanks for the mental journey this one sent me on, my friend!
You’re more than welcome, Hook!
I can hear the music that accompanies this. Should a say “romantic”?
Oh yes, Ben, a whole orchestra!
I hope there will be encores.
Gorgeous colours. Make me feel hopeful and happy. An uplifting poem!
I am so glad it makes you feel like that, Selma, and thank you for saying so!
The colors the eternal travellers assume, and paint in the minds of onlookers are spectral. They are the visible DNA of our ephemeral existence. They move across the sky but take us along with them to our fancy lands.
Congrats Denise.
You are so lucky to be able to express yourself so beautifully, Sunamu! Thank you, my friend. I have missed you lately. I hope you are keeping well.
