She
.
Living in a dream,
Her own reality – the old days
Out of touch – far too much
With the new ways
The form of an angel,
Serene but secretive,
Confusing, brooding
Eyes belie the smile,
Expression of grace
On her face.

Eyes belie the smile…
Oh yes, this is true of all of us at one time or another. Hope all is well with you Denise.
Blessings ~ Maxi
It can be very sad to watch someone age and retreat more and more into the past. i am very well thank you, Maxi, and hope you are too, dear friend. ♥
Sad poem, adee. Beautifully written.
Thank you, AD. Enjoy your holiday in Belize.
the fact that you have to include on her face in the end is rather sobering, esp in light of the picture you paint of her….
I know that as they age people worry that the picture of themselves they present to the world may have flaws eg memory lapses, etc. This hint of concern shows in their eyes. My mom was painfully aware that her brain wasn’t what it used to be.
very sobering, Denise.
