Ups and Downs
.
I believe
We’re here to learn
To take our turn,
But do we choose
Or are we chosen
For the ups and downs,
Sink or swim,
Survive or drown
In the troubled waters
Of life.

Good question, adee.
One day we’ll know the answers, AD.
A lyrical pondering with a lovely style and rhyme that makes it very enjoyable reading. Well done.
Thanks, Mike, for your comment and your kind words.
PS Just read it again. FYI, we choose.
Yes, we do and so must take the consequences of our choice. Thanks, Mike.
Those who think they know … don’t. But some ideas make more sense than others.
I think most of us are in for a big surprise, Col!
do we choose or are we chosen…well i think its a bit of both and the prepare us for the next you know…thre will always be ups and downs…
Mmm, challenges while we’re here, but after…?
This is true, adee.
Yes, Hope, we are challenged all our lives here on eath.
These ups and downs are never so palpable (at least upto the 20th Century)before. The change, nevertheless, was as smooth as the passage of ‘age’ upon us. But when man has turned away from prayer to preying on Nature, their frequency and amplitude have increased.
I believe the ups and downs are challenges to help man to grow in spirit. Whether I’m right or not remains to be seen…
Wonderfully thought provoking…
As always.

Thanks, Paul. Long time no see.
