Dawning
Dawning
.
Birthing, beginning, appearing, occurring,
Rays of light shining bright,
Sparks of perception,
Conception, in the night,
Comprehension, apprehension,
Understanding, awakening, insight
Emotions grow wider, softer
As we age, time spent intent
On introverted expansion,
And other dimensions,
Getting to the kernel of recognition
Of what makes us tick and others tock.

The Spirit of Art
.
Flesh and bone can write the music
And the heart supply the beat,
But for the music to be whole – it needs soul.
.
Every artist has a soul and his work will not be whole
Unless he leaves a part of it behind.
Painters, sculptors, poets, all,
Often manage to enthral admirers
With the wealth of their emotions.
Joy and sorrow, anguish, pain
Reflected in their work
Can sometimes miss the mark
Being overdone like rumpsteak in the pan.

Passion is…
The ability to get excited
By something or someone
To the exclusion of all else.
Life without passion
Is like sipping cold soup
On a bleak winter’s day.

Touch
~
The touch of a baby’s breath
On your cheek,
Its gaze tracing
Your face;
The touch of a lover’s hands,
A lover’s lips,
Gently caressing
Your heart;
The touch of God’s grace,
His love,
His blessing,
Embracing your soul.

You
.
The heart of my soul
Is a part of Your Whole
A spark of Your flame
A drop in Your sea
You are the God in me

Remembering
.
Memories rattle round
Like the old pots and pans
On a wandering tinker’s dray
With an enormous array
Of potions and lotions
And creams galore
Piled up high on the wooden floor
Scents and events long forgot
Bring a knot to my throat
As I drown in the gush and the rush
At last released from the heart of the past

Fulfilled
*
All the words in the world
Will never be enough
To describe my love for You
My heart overflows with feelings
That I cannot articulate
Cannot communicate
Emotions that flood my soul
Fit to burst or spill
You are all that I need
To be complete

Anguish
*
the agony
and anguish
unbearable pain
rips, and splits
tears me apart
wrings out
my heart
like an
old
floor
rag

Mist on the Water
Mist on the Water
Mist on the water
Forest on the rise
Two canoes together
Desire in your eyes
White water river
Swollen by the rain
Thunders over rocks
Drowning out the pain
Remember when we cut
Mixed our blood together
Blood brothers we would be
And lovers forever

Some Enchanted Evening
Sorry, no time – no rhyme. But a golden oldie for today… enjoy!
Some Enchanted Evening
Emile:
Some enchanted evening
You may see a stranger,
you may see a stranger
Across a crowded room
And somehow you know,
You know even then
That somewhere you’ll see her
Again and again.
Some enchanted evening
Someone may be laughin’,
You may hear her laughin’
Across a crowded room
And night after night,
As strange as it seems
The sound of her laughter
Will sing in your dreams.
Who can explain it?
Who can tell you why?
Fools give you reasons,
Wise men never try.
Some enchanted evening
When you find your true love,
When you feel her call you
Across a crowded room,
Then fly to her side,
And make her your own
Or all through your life you
May dream all alone.
Once you have found her,
Never let her go.
Once you have found her,
Never let her go!
