Subtle Changes
.
Oft times we are too close to see
The making or changing of history.
The forest is made up of too many trees
Blocking the view of anything new.
.
The implications and variations,
Said to be pure as the driven snow,
Are often disguised from enquiring eyes
And hidden in layers and layers of lies.

Shades and Shadows
~
Shades of green
and shades of blue
Shades of lies
and shades of truth
God draws the lines
between the two
.
Man empowers
them to blur
Casts his shadow
to block the view
Then claims he cannot
discern what’s true

Blindfold of Lies
~
He concocted a blindfold of lies
A fabricated web of art
Quite superfluous at the time
‘Cos there are none so blind
As those who will not see
And the wearer was me

EYES
.
Burning eyes
Are eyes of anger,
Lowered eyes
Are eyes of shame,
Dancing eyes
Are eyes of mischief
As we all play the game.
.
We search each other’s eyes
To distinguish fact from lies.
Lips don’t always tell the truth
(And you’re the living proof),
But your wide,
Innocent eyes
Convinced me otherwise.
.
Burning eyes
Are eyes of anger,
Lowered eyes
Are eyes of shame,
Dancing eyes
Are eyes of mischief
As we all play the game.

Breaking Up
Breaking Up
I do regret I can’t forget…
The curve of your cheek
As soft as a peach,
The gleam of your lips
That beg to be kissed,
But your beautiful eyes
Could not hide your lies.
I don’t believe you any more –
I wish that you’d walk out the door.
Please leave me alone,
Don’t call and don’t phone,
And please don’t resist
Or try to persist.

And for those of you who would like a little music…
The Spin Doctor
The Spin Doctor
Truth is lies and lies are truth
And never the twain shall meet –
Except in the doctor’s spin machine,
An instrument of great deceit.
Put in some black and add some white,
The mixer blends them well,
Until it’s hard to tell them apart
And know what’s what at all.
An easy way to attain success:
Combine the facts with fiction.
The product of this simple act:
A most poisonous concoction.
