God Weeps
.
God weeps
At man’s inhumanity to man
As man cuts a bloody swathe across his own
Evil smiles at his devilish tricks
We must join hands for peace
Bond together to defeat
The evil one whose plans
Are under-hand and under-way
We must not sway from right
Not always easy to tell, but pray
For our Father to show us the path
And learn to harken to His voice
As He gives us the choice
‘Tween good and evil
‘Tween God and the Devil

For a really positive take on the Boston bombings have a look at Connor’s post:
Neither
.
When you are neither young nor old
When youth has gone and age not yet arrived
It’s waiting in the shadowed wings of life
To show itself however slowly in the light
Even as day has hours of darkness
Where spirit fails to meet the sun
And the night is so much blacker
With murky patches hiding in the gloom
Remember the sun can’t hide forever
And the clouds will slowly burn away
Shining light will burst the cover
And there will always be a brand new day

I Close my Eyes
Sidey’s Weekend Theme: The End of the World
Edited
.
I close my eyes and see the blazing sunrise,
A thousand fires aflame across the skies,
A thousand voices singing songs of praise,
And there You stand surrounded by your angels
With arms outstretched in open invitation
For us to come and make our home with You.

Bright Golden Light
.
As the veil of sleep falls over my eyes
I thank Him for his amazing grace,
He who made our wonderful world
So perfect, so intricate, so complex a place –
Worlds within worlds, within worlds…
And He Himself,
A bright golden light
Blinding my sight.

Angels of Light
.
As light as a feather
weighing naught
drifting down floating on air
suspended in space
on the wings of a prayer
lustrous light luminous translucent
radiant colours blending unending
palest hints tints and shades
blushing flushing
shining bright flaming burning
day and night
magnificent splendour
gently exquisite
echoes reflections of His spirit

Waiting for God
~~
In varying phases of readiness
Waiting for God
Adventurers and explorers
At different stages assorted ages
Waiting for God
Retired from this earth
Going to a new birth
Waiting for God
Leaving on a ghost train
Through the tunnel of love
Waiting for God
Travelling down the dark path
Into the bright light
Waiting for God
Diverse faiths some without
Some are weak others stout
Waiting for God
Hallelujah
~~

Late
.
Too bad
You’re late*
He was waiting
At the gate
You weren’t there
Too busy
With life’s game
No time
To let him in
So He couldn’t
Erase your sin
.
This is a play on the word ‘late’. Many people in South Africa use the word to mean ‘dead’, e.g. ‘He is late.’ meaning ‘He is dead.’

Circles and Rings
.
Circles of life
And of seasons
Circles of time
And of reasons
Rings within rings
We go round and round
In our existence
Subsistence
Spinning fast
Spinning slow
Dizzy, giddy
Quite unsteady
If we pause to think
We are on the brink
A balancing act
As a matter of fact

You
.
The heart of my soul
Is a part of Your Whole
A spark of Your flame
A drop in Your sea
You are the God in me

Sea Shore
Sea Shore
.
As I pass along the sea shore of life
And navigate barriers along my path
The soles of my feet are battered and bruised
By rocks and pebbles randomly strewn
.
But when I reach the soft silken sand
Where waves lap gently and sun shines softly
My body is healed in the light of His love
And my soul is again made whole
