A Grey Day
A Grey Day
a grey day
with grey rain
steady drizzle
drip, drip
from the tip
of his nose
shoes squelch
in puddles
as he walks
hunched over
heavy-hearted
legs of lead
another day gone
racked with pain
he crawls under
a plastic-covered
cardboard box
sits on
today’s news
home again

Spring Rain
Sidey’s weekend theme, 27.08.2010: New Beginnings
Spring Rain
I smelled the sweetness of the rain
In the air before it came,
Bringing life back to the earth
After winter’s unhurried death.
The gentle drops fall from the clouds
Following many months of drought
And the soil drinks greedily
To deeply satisfy its thirst.
The circle of the seasons
Is about to start again
As earth maintains its journey
Of orbiting the sun.

Heartache
Heartache
My soul is howling with pain.
My tears are pouring like rain.
Am I going insane?
Can I love again?
Will my heart recover
Now you’ve found another?
I placed it in your care
And you left it there.
Goodbye forever,
Our marriage is over,
My trust is gone,
And my life is done.Photo: Superpimper.com
