I love to watch and see

The expressions in the sky

From the wond’rous beauty of the sunrise,

Hear the morning chorus sing,

To the peace and calm of evening

As the twitters fade and die;

The sun descends from heaven

And takes with him the light

So we can sleep at peace

Throughout the night.

Meanderings

My mind meanders like a river

‘Cross polished stones and burnished sand

Feels the ripples of the water

Running o’er my burning hand

Where the sun has warmed my bloodstream

The liquid gently damps it down

And my fingers dribble slowly

Wash away my mental frown

Our Journey

.

A gruelling journey

Over mountain crags,

Steep cliffs, wide clefts,

Waters-falling, echoes calling,

In sun and rain, arduous terrain,

Boulders, rocks, and stones,

A TAXing, TIRing test

Demanding our very best

To culminate in sucCESS.

If it were easy, stress-free,

Our victory would be worth-less.

Peace…

.

i sit in the cool breeze

letting His peace wash over me

in silence

only the rustle of the leaves

as the tall trees

sway gently

i feel the healing rays of the sun

the warmth of the air waves

i’m as small as an ant

in the universe

but He loves me

.

The Sun

The sun winked

through the smallest

gap in the cloud.

It blinked and shone,

and laughed out loud,

then, smiling broadly,

rays of joy reach out from above

touching the earth

with His message of love.

A shadow glides

Give and Take

.

As the rosebud slowly opens

In the warm rays of the sun

She proudly displays

To the admiring gaze

Of everyone looking on

.

But the kindly sun who gave her life

Is the self-same sun to cause her death

And her rich colour wanes

While he sucks dry her veins

Until she exhales her last breath

.

A ray of sunshine from your face

Lights up the room and spreads

Where’er it lands leaving a trace,

A tangle of golden threads,

Embracing all around as one.

The beat of heat

From the sun

Caresses my skin

Draws out the sweat

Helps me forget

Winters chill

Unquenchable thirst

I need a draught

A refreshing waft

To shoot the breeze

And be able to breathe
