Soulful eyes don’t tell lies
Piteous pleading
Watching waiting
For a kick read my eyes
Poised to run on the turn
Cigarettes BuRN
I have learnt people hurt
Not all are cruel
They are fools
I will teach you how to trust
Feed you with love
So you can rest
I’ll be your guard
We’ll stand against
Our common foe
As one…

There is creative reading as well as creative writing.
— Ralph Waldo Emerson
God Weeps
.
God weeps
At man’s inhumanity to man
As man cuts a bloody swathe across his own
Evil smiles at his devilish tricks
We must join hands for peace
Bond together to defeat
The evil one whose plans
Are under-hand and under-way
We must not sway from right
Not always easy to tell, but pray
For our Father to show us the path
And learn to harken to His voice
As He gives us the choice
‘Tween good and evil
‘Tween God and the Devil
.

For a really positive take on the Boston bombings have a look at Connor’s post:
Trust
.
My trust lies in the dust
trampled underfoot
my soul is exposed
as a worthless part of the heart
revealed as nothing more
and nothing less
than just another word…
I need another world
another space where faith
can teach me to trust again
and not barter trust
for a place in the sun
.

The Brink
The Brink
We are living on the edge
The brink of eternity
Balanced on a ledge
Dropping down to nothingness
Coloured blue by ozone
Then black by emptiness
But He is here
He is there
He is everywhere
His hand will catch us
When we fall
Just remember faith is all

Love
.
God is love
and so, as his children, are we
now that He has set us free
from the wages of sin
to place our trust in Him
with child-like faith
to live our life
and live His love

Beauty
~
There is beauty
In even the most
God forsaken
Desolation
Beauty in
The cold stark lines
Desert sands
Rocks exposed
Rainbow coloured
Layered bands
His mark is there
His name engraved
Etched in time
Emblazoned
In the sky
With every sunrise
Sunset
Giving the lie
He does not forsake
Abandon nor disown
His creations
His works of art
His magnum opus

Trust
NEW BLOG AWARDS FROM JINGLE: See bottom of right hand column – Congratulations to all winners! Please help yourselves…
Trust
There can be no trust
Without openness and honesty.
There can be no trust
Without integrity.
*
Trust is the most critical
Element in any relationship.
In partnerships
We need to trust each other;
As citizens of a country
We need to trust our leadership.
When trust breaks down
Then what have we?
The potential for anarchy!
*
There can be no trust
Without openness and honesty.
There can be no trust
Without integrity.

What Happened?
What Happened?
What happened to the sweet innocence of youth?
Where did it go – that newly-opened bloom?
The trust we had has withered and died
And the faith we felt, eroded away with the sands of time.
Would that we could return to those simple years,
Would that we could go back to how we were…
But alas the tears we shed have dried
And our hearts have turned to stone.

When Love Leaves
When Love Leaves
Colour faded from my world,
But I was blind,
Too caught up in life
To see the signs.
Taxi mom, fetch and carry
To and fro – way to go.
Romance had left long before
Love went out the door.
You held my love captive
In your heart;
It fought to break free
And returned to me.
When trust is broken
The bond is gone;
Nothing can cement the cracks,
There’s no going back.

Betrayal
Betrayal
You were my friend, I thought,
A true and faithful friend
Who stood by me and held my hand,
Sustaining me, assisting me,
A pillow for my tiredness,
A place to rest my head.
Were you a user in my need
Or an abuser of my trust?
Was it duplicity and perfidy
And I too blind to see?
How could you make a mockery
Of all that I believed?
