The Onset of Winter
Sullen clouds, dark and menacing
Hang in the sky.
The air is damp and cold –
Frozen fingers, nose and toes.
Drip, drip, drip from the branches
Hanging down towards the ground.
Winter’s start. Sudden, fierce, chill.
Not forewarned, but expected
Nonetheless.

Teeny little iceblocks that shaved the paint off the side of the house and made a salad of the leaves on the trees! I was sorry I didn’t grab the cellphone sooner – the air was white – and it was over so fast!

I’m sorry, Sidey! I was upset about my house and it still hasn’t been repainted.

Hi Rea, how lovely it is to see you again! Are you changing over, or going to use both? HUGS to you too, whatever you decide!

Very good pictures, word and actual! That must have been quite a storm – but it certainly left a snow-like, really chilly appearance!

It was really strange, Col. I suppose it was hail; the little blocks were less than ½cm small, very even, tightly packed, and took hours to melt even though it wasn’t that cold at the time. Thank you for your comments which I find very encouraging.

That must have been so scary…. I love winter – but I always feel so sorry for those living in shacks with little or no covering what so ever… 😦

It wasn’t scary, it was ‘too weird to be scared’, lol! Yes, I can’t bear to see the conditions some people have to endure. I wish all very wealthy people had to pay a tax to be used exclusively for the relief of poverty/suffering and for education/training.
