Light and Shade
The sunlight played
In the dappled shade
Of the maple tree.
Patches of light
Danced to the tune
Of the mischievous breeze.
The leaves floated down
To lie on the ground
And the tree was bare.
Bereft it remained
In the receding shade
Until the spring returned.

Pretty, you’ve allowed a positive resolution at the end, so that Winter is not seen as being brutal.

This makes me mad… I try poetry and it comes out funny – you do it and it comes out profound…. 🙂
