Forbidden Fruit
She entered the room
And sat on a chair by the window.
The rays from the sun
Lit up her hair like a halo.
She reached over to take
A ripe nectarine from the bowl;
Her teeth glinted white
As she took her first bite of the fruit.
A pear and banana
Were next to follow with gusto.
She stretched like a cat
Before going outside to the pool.
Pursued by eyes
Admiring the grace of her walk,
An innocent child
Masquerading in an adult’s disguise.
