Where the Heart is
To me a home is a welcoming place
Where I can relax and be myself,
Shrug off all my worldly cares
And be at one with the universe.
While I take pleasure in family and friends,
I find it wonderful to return,
Welcomed back by my pets with joy,
And shut the door on the rest of the world.
Co-exist with mutual respect,
Peace at last; they understand
Love and affection with no demands,
Conflict avoided at any cost.
This is heaven on earth for me,
My sheltered harbour in the storm,
My hideaway and my sanctuary,
My haven, my refuge, my retreat.

Oh adee, my haven has been invaded for the past six weeks by visitors from the UK. They’re the nicest people, but I so look forward to Wednesday, when they all go away.

I’m afraid I am a bit of a hermit most of the time. Enjoy the visit and hope your MIL is better.

I agree to a certain extent. Though a problem comes about when your partner snores.
