Fraud and Corruption
Rot is rife in the corridors of power
From the hallowed halls of parliament
To the municipal offices –
Fingers in the cookie jars of public funds,
Stealing from the poor, deprived and ravenous.
SCOPA is aware but no action has been taken.
Comrades from the past
Are loyal in the present.
Will they ever recognise that that was in the struggle,
And now the struggle’s over they’re accomplices to crime,
Breaking the laws they are supposed to uphold.

I dream of a corruption-free government.

Oh yes, Halfy, me too. But I don’t think it will ever be a reality – the best that can happen is that the rule of law is overhauled so that criminals are seen to be caught and punished.

I doubt that’s going to happen in our lifetime!

I know, Col., lots to fix still before we can really be proud of our country!
