Friends are Special

I got this from Jingle and would like to pass it on to all of you!

False Starts

Waiting for my arm to heal
After six weeks in plaster,
I returned to the doctor yesterday –
And what a disaster!

I thought I would be free again
From all the limitations
Of these past long days,
Only to hear of further restrictions.

Back to hospital in five days’ time;
Remove the plaster and the pins,
But then be fitted with a brace
Protecting the bones for the final phase.

Another month – I’ve had enough!
Please Lord, never let me fall again:
This has been a trial for all
And I have struggled to keep my cool!

  1. be patient,
one month will win life time freedom, why not stay tuned and listen to the expert!

    very beautifully said,
your words flow lovely and your expression is heard clearly.

writing is a way to “vent”,
I hope that you feel better in no time.
you have enough reason to ask other people to help you and pay attention to you,
referring washing clothes, lifting goods, …

    have a smiling day!
    😉

  2. What a blow adee, but nicely related.
I wish you strength over the coming month.

    • Thanks, Cindy. It was a blow but I have no choice in the matter. I am hoping that I can have a ‘proper’ bath with the brace. Anyway it will be lighter and, with the pins out, not painful any longer.

  4. glad you are healing a bit…and better to give it the time it needs to be healed properly than deal with it the rest of your life…hang in there…

  6. I’m sorry Adee, I can imagine how much you’ve been looking forward to being able to use your arm freely again. I’m glad the brace will be lighter though.

    • Thanks Halfy. I should be much more comfortable when the pins have been removed – and I thought there were two only to find out there are three! Roll on Wednesday… 🙂

  8. The brace is usually something that allows you to do simple things like bathing.

It’sprogress, just not yet the end. Probably the end is only in sight when you go to physio to get it fully functioning again.

    Nice take on the theme
