Spring Rain

I smelled the sweetness of the rain
In the air before it came,
Bringing life back to the earth
After winter’s unhurried death.

The gentle drops fall from the clouds
Following many months of drought
And the soil drinks greedily
To deeply satisfy its thirst.

The circle of the seasons
Is about to start again
As earth maintains its journey
Of orbiting the sun.

  1. I’m waiting to walk in the rain again and splash in puddles.

  5. there is comfort in knowing that the seasons come round again…much as they do in our lives…and after the long dry it is great to stand in the rain and be nourished…

  6. Adee,
Wow, such powerful, emotive words. Will have to come back and look through other things when I have time. Amazing stuff.
