Sidey’s weekend theme, 27.08.2010: New Beginnings
Spring Rain
I smelled the sweetness of the rain
In the air before it came,
Bringing life back to the earth
After winter’s unhurried death.
The gentle drops fall from the clouds
Following many months of drought
And the soil drinks greedily
To deeply satisfy its thirst.
The circle of the seasons
Is about to start again
As earth maintains its journey
Of orbiting the sun.

I’m waiting to walk in the rain again and splash in puddles.
Morning Adee 🙂

Thanks Halfy, they should be here soon. The other day I thought I smelled it, but then the clouds blew away! 😀

Awesome Adee…I love walking in the rain and the last stanza in your poem says it all…the circle of the seasons. Loved it. Happy day dear one xx

Thank you Cin. I would like a ‘leeetle’ rain, just to damp down the dust and so that I don’t have to water, lol!

lovely one, I can smell the rain in it, just wish we could have a shower or two – like you I’d like to damp down the dust now

Thanks Sidey! Yes we could do with a little less dust, my hayfever is driving me nuts…

there is comfort in knowing that the seasons come round again…much as they do in our lives…and after the long dry it is great to stand in the rain and be nourished…

Adee,
Wow, such powerful, emotive words. Will have to come back and look through other things when I have time. Amazing stuff.

Oh yes, I loved the picture too! Funny to think that we are virtually on opposite sides of the earth and can communicate almost instantly.
