God Speaks

God Speaks

God speaks to us in silence,
He whispers soft but clear,
And when we stop to listen
He makes sure that we can hear.

God speaks to us in silence,
His message loud and clear,
And if we still don’t listen
He will shout it in our ear.

I am a middle-aged South African woman, living in Johannesburg. I began writing poetry towards the end of May 2010. I love animals – sometimes more than people!

  1. I found the end a nice, humorous touch to the poem.

    • He show us what He wants, and we go our own way. Then sometimes He shows us in an unmistakeable way what He wants and, if we still refuse to change – well we have to suffer the consequences! But very often in the end we do what we should have done in the first place, lol!

The picture is lovely and represents Spring here in South Africa. The flowers are Cosmos which flower mostly along the roadsides in spring and autumn.

Walked a bit today with the brace. Very uncomfortable! Hope the physiotherapist can adjust it a bit tomorrow…
