Trust

There can be no trust
Without openness and honesty.
There can be no trust
Without integrity.
*
Trust is the most critical
Element in any relationship.
In partnerships
We need to trust each other;
As citizens of a country
We need to trust our leadership.
When trust breaks down
Then what have we?
The potential for anarchy!
*
There can be no trust
Without openness and honesty.
There can be no trust
Without integrity.

I am a middle-aged South African woman, living in Johannesburg. I began writing poetry towards the end of May 2010. I love animals – sometimes more than people! I am back after a break. Thanks for still being here, if you are! Missed you! xxx

    • There is so much around us that is false, Lynda, that it is hard to trust people before they have proved themselves, whereas it should be the other way round.

  5. Trust is a very hard issue for me. It takes me a while to trust people. I hate it, but I owe it to the way I grew up. Although, I can trust complete strangers as opposed to my family! Great post!
