Dolphins
Sleek, shiny, iron-grey,
Gliding through the sea
And surfing in the waves,
Beautiful creatures of the deep.
Who could not but admire
Their joyous displays?
Man’s friend of their own freewill,
By some accounts,
They should beware
Of Man’s intentions:
Selfishness and greed
His main objectives!
He is killing the earth
Piece by piece –
First animals, birds and trees
Were victims of his greed,
Now fish and mammals of the deep,
By poisoning the seas.

You’re so lucky Brian!!! My daughter and family went over your side a few years ago and swam with them somewhere in Florida.

And, Satyakam, I feel that people are getting even greedier and making money and possessions the goal in their lives – and the gods in their lives also – leading us to wonder where it will all end…

There’s nothing like watching dolphins frolicking in the waves.
I hope and pray mankind wakes up before it’s too late.

Lovely piece as always. Would like to say I’d love to swim with the dolphins, but I’m petrified of water, so it would be no good for me!
Thanks for adding me to your blogroll – feel honoured!

Thanks for the compliment Peter. To me, dolphins always look as if they live in the moment, content and enjoying themselves. We could all learn a thing or two from them I think.

Hi Paul, thanks for the compliment my friend; I just wrote what I see happening in our world which we are on the path to totally destroying. I hope things are going well with you. God bless you too.

Dolphins are beautiful creatures and I love to watch them play in the ocean close to where I live. They are so intelligent, and very social. My son has surfed with them and he said they knew a wave was coming before he did, so he got ready for the wave, and they were right! They seem to love interacting with humans.

I agree that they are beautiful to watch and extremely intelligent. I really miss living at the coast where I used to see them regularly.
