a grey day
with grey rain
steady drizzle
drip, drip
from the tip
of his nose
shoes squelch
in puddles
as he walks
hunched over
heavy-hearted
legs of lead
another day gone
racked with pain
he crawls under
a plastic-covered
cardboard box
sits on
today’s news
home again
