Sidey’s Weekend Theme: 01.10.2010 – Hiding
Hiding
He shivered with anticipation,
As excitement filled the air,
He listened hard for footsteps,
But there were none to hear.
Waiting… wondering… heart fit to burst,
His thoughts running riot,
He pictured the path the hunter would take,
But, oh, it was hard to keep quiet.
Shrieks of laughter filled the air;
And he knew a child had been found,
Then he smiled to himself as he wriggled down
In his hidey hole, without a sound.

Thanks, Amanda… we’ve had lovely weather for ages and it’s warmed up too, late 20°C. Unfortunately no rain, although there has been quite a lot along the whole coastline. 😦 Take care xxx

I was never very good at hiding. I always was found quickly.

Haha, I couldn’t stand the suspense! Hope you and BV have found a ‘home’ for all your stuff… Awful job, unpacking… but well worth it in the end. 😀

Nice poem – evokes lovely memories of childhood. One good thing about a large family, we always had somebody to play these sorts of games with…

We were lucky, there were at least half a dozen children of around our age in the close neighbourhood… so always some around.

So light-hearted and warm…
Reminds me of being a child with that type of excitement as well…
