A Bird’s Eye View
I saw an eagle
soaring on the currents of warm air
high above the arid plains
of parched earth
where the hot wind blows
and the tumbleweeds roll,
keen eyes sharply focused
searching for the smallest movement
the slightest sign or inkling
of a potential meal for the open beaks
waiting in the eyrie atop a krantz
in the distant blue mountains.
krantz, n. (S.-Afr.) precipitous or overhanging wall of rocks

It was a pleasure – and the writing of it as well. Thanks for your comment. 😀

You describe that wonderfully. And that graphic of the eagle flying, very appropriate.
