I write what I feel…

slums Pictures, Images and Photos

Evolution –
Revolution –
But there will be no resolution
Without inspiration and perspiration.
A rash of unrest is spreading
Like a fire out of control –
A conflagration of feelings.

Take away man’s ability to provide
Food and shelter for his family
And the spark is lit;
There is nothing to lose.
Desperation is the match
For those who fail to scratch
A living from the superfluity of the ‘haves’.

Beware those who try to subvert
Actions aimed at charity
For popularity.
Governments are failing their poor,
Food is unaffordable to more and more.
Where will it end?
And what does it portend?

  1. maybe 2012 will really bring changes?

  2. Very apt for the political situations in certain countries. Sad though that so many lives have to be lost 😦 Thanks for stopping by at my blog.

    • I have tried to keep up to date, but without comments. First I was out of commission in hospital, then exercises and pain made it hard to use the computer, and, lastly, no landline or internet connection!

I think the unrest will spread as there are ever increasing numbers of people struggling just to survive.

      God bless you. ♥

  3. they sell you on positive change too…they say the unemployment rate is decreasing here in the states but they dont count those that have had to take part time jobs to just keep food on the table…tough times these days and i am afraid its only going to get worse as people get desperate…

    • We hear how many jobs have been created, but not that they are ‘casuals’ nor that a number of them are doing (or re-doing) maintenance that has been neglected, i.e. they are paying twice or more times for a job to be done.

  4. You couldn’t have picked a better photo to drive home your point.

I really do wonder if things can ever be turned around, and my fear is that the answer is no.

  5. Great write and lovely page!

  6. “There is nothing to lose. Desperation is the match” – well said, Adeeyoyo. I think the person that has “nothing to lose” is far more dangerous than the threats of Mother Nature

    • There is a limit to what poor people can put up with and when that point is reached, they will eventually revolt. It is a matter of when they see the rich becoming richer at their expense. See my earlier post ‘Greed is a Pig’. The unrest in a number of countries is because of this, I think.
