S O F T
Soft as a feather bed,
Down pillow for my head,
Cuddly kitten, cutie pie,
Sleeping curled up where I lie.
Soft as the gentle breeze
Lightly stirring my chemise,
Fingers reach to touch my hair
Confirming just how much you care.
But when I wake you will be gone
And I will be utterly forlorn
Save for the kitten of softest grey
To see me through another day.
