I write what I feel…

Devastation in Northern Japan

Devastation in
Northern Japan

A landscape strewn

Across the page of time

Images frozen in my mind

Deadly destruction swept

By puny man

Untold lives lost

Forever in this second holocaust

Encarta Dictionary: holocaust
Wholesale or mass destruction, especially of human life.

  3. “Holocaust” aptly describes this defining moment in our history, Adeeyoyo

    • I hesitated over using the word, but it was the only word I could think of to describe what has happened. It is scary that we won’t know the ramifications of it for quite some time…

  4. seeing the news and seeing the numbers climb higher and high is just heart breaking….

  5. Very poignant poem Adee. This is such a terrible tragedy 😦

  6. A terrible tragedy, Adee 😦

  7. That photo just makes me want to sob for days. How are the people of Japan bearing it? It is like the end of the world.
Your poem is very powerful. The image of the puny man resonates. We are powerless against such a force of nature.
