Daddy’s Friend

Burying her head in the pillow
She listened for the footsteps
And then he was there
Sitting on her bed
She could smell his breath
What’s the matter
Stomach ache
His hand snaked under the bedclothes
Is that better
Muffled voices from the lounge
She squirmed, yes
