I write what I feel…

Autumn Falls

Autumn Falls

A tentative breeze

Wafts through the trees

And fall-coloured leaves

Of inconceivable hues

Drift down to the ground.

With barely a sound

They carpet the floor

Leaving us speechless,

Astounded in awe,

By beauty sacrificed

As before.

  1. Ironic how leaves peak with color as they lie dying.

  2. Yes indeed, Carl. I took a wonderful picture of leaves lying on the grass, but I can’t use it as I am really pushed for gigs and think I am going to run out before the month end! Sorry…

  3. my favourite time of the year

  4. Lovely! Hope that you’ll be out and about amid nature’s splendor soon! 😀

  5. Beautiful poem, very together and emotion filled.

  9. Yes, I also wondered – weird… Is it only some leaves that get that rich final flush of colour as they dry out, I wonder. I have only noticed it with my Japanese maple.
