Autumn Falls
~~~
A tentative breeze
Wafts through the trees
And fall-coloured leaves
Of inconceivable hues
Drift down to the ground.
With barely a sound
They carpet the floor
Leaving us speechless,
Astounded in awe,
By beauty sacrificed
As before.
Ironic how leaves peak with color as they lie dying.
Yes indeed, Carl. I took a wonderful picture of leaves lying on the grass, but I can’t use it as I am really pushed for gigs and think I am going to run out before the month end! Sorry…
Yes, I also wondered – weird… Is it only some leaves that get that rich final flush of colour as they dry out, I wonder. I have only noticed it with my Japanese maple.
