I write what I feel…

A New Day

Sailing into the dawn of a new day,

Sharply seen against the rising sun,

The ocean, a tranquil turquoise wash,

The promise of excitement just begun.

Feeling the fresh breeze brush our cheek,

While the salt spray gently sprinkles

Our shoulders with additional freckles

Of burnished gold on a gilded skin.

Peaceful and content we ride the swells,

Trusting in nature’s generous mood,

The kindness of her disposition

To those who wish her only good.

  1. Yeah, but the ocean sure can get a bit nasty from time to time. In Miami, Florida am sweatin’ out rest of hurricane season.

    • Thanks Nancy. Sorry, I trashed it and reworked it to, I hope, a better version. I hoped no-one would notice, lol. 😆

      • I do think that today’s version is “stronger” . . . good revise. 😀

Sorry if I let the cat out of the bag . . . but I ALWAYS notice your posts in my in-box.

        • Haha, not to worry, John also saw it briefly and asked me in Floating comments where it had got to! Thanks for always noticing – makes me feel good! 😀

  8. What a way to begin the day! One such day is enough for a lifetime.

    • I can’t think of a better way to begin a new day than a swim in, or sail on, the sea! Those to whom it has no appeal can look at it figuratively, lol. 😆

  10. Oh yes, my favorite topic…Coastal North Carolina here, and nothing better than the ocean at night, so far out from land, stars and moon the only light, makes me high just reading about. Thanks for the refreshment.
    God Bless you
