Chosen for her easy nature
Pliability, malleability
Plasticine-like quality
To be moulded into the perfect wife
To share his ambitions
His dreams and drive
T’wards the perfect life
~
And she, in love with love
Flattered and thrilled
Sweet-talked and cajoled
Happy to be chosen by this boy
From all the girls around
Was quite giddy with joy
To be the one he’d found

The unfinished part is when she finds self reallization in who she is rather than what she must be for someone else.

It’s so easy to fall in love with the idea of being in love . . .

How fascinating to watch the thoughts and the poem developing, Denise. I am wrestling with a poem at the moment, but it is inside my head, and I can’t show the development like you are doing. Brilliant.
Thank you

I have done my posts like this because I am actually on ‘borrowed time’ with my internet access. Trying to get my contract sorted out and expecting to be cut off at any minute. Glad you’re enjoying watching my thought processes, lol! 😀

It is almost a pity to take this one further. As it is, it opens up a vista of speculation as to where it went from there. Did she adapt perfectly to the mold – and ended up boring him? Or did she break out of it and fall out of fascination with him just as he fell in love with her? Or …

Oh Col, I have been in a quandary about those very things… or whether to split the poem into two different endings? Btw, nice to see you back again 🙂

Is she in love with love, the sweet talk, being singled out or … the boy?

I think most young girls are in love with love for a good few years and do confuse it with being ‘in love’ with another person, Maxi.
