He concocted a blindfold of lies
A fabricated web of art
Quite superfluous at the time
‘Cos there are none so blind
As those who will not see
And the wearer was me

I am a middle-aged South African woman, living in Johannesburg. I began writing poetry towards the end of May 2010. I love animals – sometimes more than people! I am back after a break. Thanks for still being here, if you are! Missed you! xxx

Trouble is, what you don’t see, you feel deeply, Denise. I hope the pain lessens soon

No, John, it’s over and done with. I was just thinking back to what a fool I was.

Maybe you didn’t see what you knew would be painful.

As long as we don’t blindfold ourselves from the truth, we eventually see the light! Again, as usual, thought-provoking. Nice post.

The consolation is that lies have a way of catching up from behind and biting one in the tail! Sooner or later …

It’s easy to fall victim and see what we want to see Denise, so don’t feel too bad, it happens to us all from time to time; you eventually saw the light and that’s what matters. God Bless.

Yes we are, Bb. We expect others to be honest with us which isn’t always the case.

haha – does look a bit military with the head turn – he had just had a bird bath and that is why the feathers were all fluffed up 🙂 They have very sharp beaks (meat eaters).

‘Cos there are none so blind
As those who will not see’ – so true. I know so many people who are guilty of this. I have been guilty of this myself. It is always good when that light comes back on!
