Maker of Heaven and Earth

.

Who can deny God

When the beauty of the earth

And the wonder of life

Give us proof

.

From the harshness of Africa

To the gentleness of Britain

And the starkness of the poles

His existence is written

.

I am a middle-aged South African woman, living in Johannesburg. I began writing poetry towards the end of May 2010. I love animals – sometimes more than people! I am back after a break. Thanks for still being here, if you are! Missed you! xxx

  4. Lovely, Denise.
Such a lot in a few words. Very impressive.
(I knew that iceberg would find its way back somewhere – such a dramatic picture.
    Thank you

    • Thanks, John. Sometimes a few words make a bigger impact – I hope!
I loved that iceberg picture – enormous amount hidden under the surface. I would have liked to see it alongside an oil rig to judge the size better. And I think I would like to use it again.

  10. Maxi is right. So many people demand a sign. Like they are so unique and important God is supposed to send them their own special rainbow or something.
The signs are all around. And Jesus said his kingdom was not of this
    world in the first place.

  13. Looking God through Nature is a post-Romatic idea. Almost till then, except few pholosophical circles, it was believed God has created the World for the benefit of man.
But then, this helps to view nature with a little more respect and care.
I agree with you Denise, when you said, “Who can deny?”

    • I agree that we should live in harmony with nature, caring for our planet and respecting all other life forms. I also feel that our beautiful world is a reflection of the beauty and nature of God. If we disrespect it, we disrespect God.
