Two in the morning
Awake without warning
We are not alone
Never on our own
God’s army of angels
From another plane
From a different place
Another race
Angels of light
Reflect in the night
God’s love from above

How can you sleep with a bed crowded with an army of angels? Do they demand some of the secret stash of chocolate hidden in the nightstand as well?

Chocolate? I wish… I have been so sick since Sat lunch. Must have been something (not chocolate) I ate… Weak tea, last night and this morning. Waiting to get marie biscuits to try? Btw, re angels, have you heard the little rhyme ‘There were ten in the bed and the little one said…?

It is indeed a comfort to know we are in God’s care – especially on those sleepless or fretful nights. Good poem, Dee!

I guess you woke up in the middle of the night, Denise, to have written this.
I think the best time for prayer is then, when the body is quiet and the soul can talk to God. I loved this.

I did, John. I often wake in the night with the first few lines in my head. These are the ones that just come to me effortlessly. But if I don’t write them down imediately (which has happened a few times) then they’re lost. Thank you so much.

I wish lines came to me effortlessly, Denise!!
Mostly its and idea, and sometimes it is with me for ages before I write.

That’s not always the case, John, more’s the pity! Sometimes I just have a word or phrase on my brain and I sometimes do have to work out what to write. I never know what the end result will be though.

Hahaha, Maxi! I hear that it’s a 48 hour bug. A whole crowd of people have gone down with it yesterday and today, but I am much better this afternoon! Thank goodness for Coke and marie biscuits plus half a mug of chicken noodle soup for lunch. Thanks for the ‘get well’ wishes! 🙂
