I write what I feel…

Carousel of Seasons

Swing high, swing low

This is how the seasons go

See-sawing up and down

Like a carousel round and round

Here today and gone tomorrow

Happy sun and clouds of sorrow

How the weather shapes our mood

How our mood can be subdued

Light and playful breezes blow

Barely touch the water’s flow

These soft winds become a gale

On the rocks the ships impale

Fickle weather fickle mood

Do not seem to augur good

We should always be prepared

To stand against the one who dared

Do evil deeds and sinful feats

And brings the world to disrepute

And spreads his malevolence

On those around him every one

  1. Nice one Denise

  2. In a way this reflects Nancy’s last blog, Denise. Good and bad patches succeed one another. I felt any picture , to be beautiful, must have contrast – light and dark, and so it is with life.

  3. Interesting poem, Denise. It starts our playful and ends on a rather ominous note. A discordant chord.

  4. I am with you Denise. I wish the winds of unrest among people builds up into a gale to dash the evil-doers along with their team… without trace.

    • Wouldn’t that be nice, Sunamu… I really wish all the people would unite and pray for a solution to the world’s problems – even just for a couple of minutes a day. I have a strong feeling we need it.

  5. I agree with the comments above, the end is full of foreboding … good poem, adee.

  6. nice…seasons come and go…hard times never last…and you can always expect them when things are good…life rides the waves…

  7. A fine write, Adee, and ominous words indeed. I think the winds are the winds of change – which doesn’t necessarily make it easier to bear with them… Sometimes we just have to ride the storm as best we can.

  8. I think it is very well written. With every light there is dark, most times than not light will prevail.

  9. There is most definitely an ebb and flow to life. Thankfully what we learn in the good times helps us through the bad times.

  10. One wonderful thing about the carousel ride: the circle has no end.

  11. Seasons change, like the wind, like us
