All the words in the world
Will never be enough
To describe my love for You
My heart overflows with feelings
That I cannot articulate
Cannot communicate
Emotions that flood my soul
Fit to burst or spill
You are all that I need
To be complete

Oh, that so sounds like me in my teens. At that particular time, I believed that the “right guy” would make everything “right with the world” ~ one of the Precious Illusions that Alanis sings about. π

I also grew up believing that, Nancy. My mother was a big Mills & Boon fan! But i also think, in that day and age that was how we were brought up. My mother, God bless her, believed a ‘man’ was the answer to every girl’s problems. π

Sorry I turned the discussion in the wrong direction, Denise. But many of your poems are “retrospective” in nature . . . and I missed the capital You. π

Don’t worry, Nancy, the capital You and the tags that should have given it away to the other commenters. I would never again think to be COMPLETED by a mere man, lol, however tempting it may seem, lol. π

Really appropriate for a Sunday!
Regarding the interpretation some have put on it, isn’t it a pity that no mere mortal is ever likely to deserve such an assertation.

I thought it was fitting, but the first comment set the ball rolling in another direction… and you are quite right, Col. π
