I write what I feel…

All the words in the world

Will never be enough

To describe my love for You

My heart overflows with feelings

That I cannot articulate

Cannot communicate

Emotions that flood my soul

Fit to burst or spill

You are all that I need

To be complete

I am a middle-aged South African woman, living in Johannesburg. I began writing poetry towards the end of May 2010. I love animals – sometimes more than people! I am back after a break. Thanks for still being here, if you are! Missed you! xxx

  1. Oh, that so sounds like me in my teens. At that particular time, I believed that the “right guy” would make everything “right with the world” ~ one of the Precious Illusions that Alanis sings about. πŸ˜€

    • I also grew up believing that, Nancy. My mother was a big Mills & Boon fan! But i also think, in that day and age that was how we were brought up. My mother, God bless her, believed a ‘man’ was the answer to every girl’s problems. πŸ™„

    • Sorry I turned the discussion in the wrong direction, Denise. But many of your poems are “retrospective” in nature . . . and I missed the capital You. πŸ˜‰

      • Don’t worry, Nancy, the capital You and the tags that should have given it away to the other commenters. I would never again think to be COMPLETED by a mere man, lol, however tempting it may seem, lol. πŸ˜†

  2. Oh Denise, thank you, but you hardly know me.

  3. LMAO at Jack πŸ˜€

  4. words from the heart… lovely Denise

  5. Hmm, could be puppy love or … true love.

  6. Really appropriate for a Sunday!
Regarding the interpretation some have put on it, isn’t it a pity that no mere mortal is ever likely to deserve such an assertation.

  7. Simply divine, I would say. πŸ˜‰

  8. great capture of the contentedness that can come in love…what a moment that realizing you need nothing else…

  9. Such beautiful words!
