I write what I feel…

Multi Sided

My heart is on the inside

But I sometimes wear it

On the outside of my sleeve

And then there’s the wrong side

Or the left side

And the right side

Looking on the dark side

Or the bright side

Being on the winning side

Not the losing side

Is the upside

Not the downside of life

Not to mention the blindside

When you fall in love

I am a middle-aged South African woman, living in Johannesburg. I began writing poetry towards the end of May 2010. I love animals – sometimes more than people! I am back after a break. Thanks for still being here, if you are! Missed you! xxx

  4. I detect a hint of intoxication here: the sweet wine of love. 😛 Or, from another point of view, should be describe it a sparkling diamond.

  5. This reminds me of a song. Don’t recall who sang it:
    Upside down, You turn me . . . Inside out, Round about

    Enjoy the multi-sided sensations. 😀

  8. Sounds like a heart inside the washin’ machine with eyes squeezed shut … wonderin’ how it will come out … and with who.

  10. Fun!
    Does being in love make one put on side? 🙂

  11. Not sure I get you, Col…? Love can blindside one, i.e. Hit one on the blind side, or on the side where you are not looking. 😆

  12. Such a confusing business, this love: and beautifully summed up in your poem. It’s hard to know which side to look….

  16. Look at the bright side…

    From Alfred Lord Tennyson’s poem In Memoriam:27, 1850:

    I hold it true, whate’er befall;
    I feel it, when I sorrow most;
    ‘Tis better to have loved and lost
    Than never to have loved at all.

    Bless You

  20. There are many different sides to love. I really like the image of wearing the heart outside on the sleeve – vulnerable yet strong. Very nice!
