He rings my bell
signals long-lost feelings
longings, yearnings
half-remembered dreamings
healings, tenses, senses
in the deepest recesses of my being

I am a middle-aged South African woman, living in Johannesburg. I began writing poetry towards the end of May 2010. I love animals – sometimes more than people! I am back after a break. Thanks for still being here, if you are! Missed you! xxx

I must say I do like ‘rouses’ equally as much as ‘signals’ and may have used it if I had thought of it first… Thanks, Col.

From a grammatic point of view I suppose our lives can be seen as tenses. Unfortunately I am long on the past tense and short on the future tense.

Let love’s bell toll
o’er hill and through dale,
and hear love’s bell tingle
through whisper or gale.
And you can quote me on that…
Happiness always for you Denise.

Thanks, Jake! I think you may have meant ‘tinkle’, but ‘tingle’ is good too… 😆
