I write what I feel…

She

Living in a dream,

Her own reality – the old days

Out of touch – far too much

With the new ways

The form of an angel,

Serene but secretive,

Confusing, brooding

Eyes belie the smile,

Expression of grace

On her face.

I am a middle-aged South African woman, living in Johannesburg. I began writing poetry towards the end of May 2010. I love animals – sometimes more than people! I am back after a break. Thanks for still being here, if you are! Missed you! xxx

  3. the fact that you have to include on her face in the end is rather sobering, esp in light of the picture you paint of her….

    • I know that as they age people worry that the picture of themselves they present to the world may have flaws eg memory lapses, etc. This hint of concern shows in their eyes. My mom was painfully aware that her brain wasn’t what it used to be.
