I am a middle-aged South African woman, living in Johannesburg. I began writing poetry towards the end of May 2010. I love animals – sometimes more than people! I am back after a break. Thanks for still being here, if you are! Missed you! xxx

  1. I could think of a couple of captions for pic #4 but in the interest of good taste, I will refrain from sharing.. lol It must have been an exciting trip to see them in their natural habitat.

  2. I see you also have a giraffe. Gorgeous pics, adee. What a great trip you had.

  3. You really did build up a lovely collection from that spot!

  4. A fine tribute to these dwindling populations.

  5. Lovely shots, Denise.

  6. just beautiful…

  7. I couldn’t agree more, Ruth. It was like being in garden of Eden, or so I like to imagine…

  8. oh wow…continuing to be envious…all the life…and so different from anything we see here…how cool….

  9. Wonderful!! really special pics – you are making me homesick!!

  10. We are lucky to be blessed with such a variety of animals! And I was extremely lucky to have everything fall into place, ie being given the trip and seeing all the animals close up.

  11. I’m sure you have a comical warthog poem somewhere in that creative brain of yours… 😀

    • I was really hoping for some nice photo’s of baby warthogs – they are so sweet – but the dad should suffice. I’ll give it a try in the weekend, but no promises… 😉
