.
‘Twas a wild moon night
With creatures taking flight,
Dogs howled, cats yowled
And the wind lashed branches ‘cross the sky.
Sheltered safe in our secret place, you and I,
Hearts rock ‘n rolling, emotions exploding,
We loved as no-one ever loved before;
Our love would never die,
Or so we thought, both you and I.
But time did not agree
Faithfulness you failed to show
Nor truthfulness; loyalty was fantasy,
And so the dream was doomed to die,
Dashed by the shock of a fatal blow.

ah dang…as with most dreams…born before their time they crash and burn in the face of reality….sadly…was loving the feel of the opening…yet the eventual turn…

That’s so true, Brian. Reality can be like a cold shower, lol! Or a bucket of cold water sloshed over …

Oh!… Perhaps man is as wild as the moonlight , Denise, waxing and waning and never remaining consistent for two neighbouring days. No use mooning about man’s faithlessness.

Some are, perhaps. Also, in many cases, too immature for a serious relationship.

How cursed be, the cheating heart that fails love’s simple test, and is now doomed to beat forever, within another’s breast.
A very deep and telling poem Denise thank you for sharing it with us..

Yes, I love the title too, Nancy. Unfortunately there is always the last straw… unless you want to lose all self-respect.

It’s agony to discover betrayal … the heart does not want to let go.

Yes, Maxi, talk about being stabbed in the heart… but live and learn, hey?
