I am a middle-aged South African woman, living in Johannesburg. I began writing poetry towards the end of May 2010. I love animals – sometimes more than people! I am back after a break. Thanks for still being here, if you are! Missed you! xxx

The camera is great, Maxi, but the operator leaves as much room for improvement… 😀

Thank you, Hope. The elephant photo’s were really a disappointment to me. Some were not as sharp as I would have liked, and this one was covered in mud after a mudbath!

Thank you, Pussycat! The rhino’s were very elusive, but once we saw a huge herd of them stampeding in the distance (too far for photo’s unfortunately) and a vehicle racing alongside.

They were still pretty close, Jake, but very peaceful except for one giant male. Unfortunately he wouldn’t pose for me, lol!

Oh, Brian, I would if I could, but I used every one in my post on the rhinos:

and it was really a bonus to see them just when we were leaving the park – after looking for them for days… in vain… and we had just about given up hope.

Great images. The zebra photo with parent and young was one that appealed to me, probably due to the harmony with the surroundings.
