I write what I feel…

Anticipating Autumn

.

Summer’s leaves begin to fade,

Yellowed in the last hot sun;

Morning air is cool and fresh,

Autumn’s slow advance begun.

Growth slows, awaiting frost,

Nights grow longer, colder too,

Lengthened evenings by the fire

Give more time to spend with you.

I am a middle-aged South African woman, living in Johannesburg. I began writing poetry towards the end of May 2010. I love animals – sometimes more than people! I am back after a break. Thanks for still being here, if you are! Missed you! xxx

  4. We’re just coming into Spring now, Denise, – I had just the same feelings last autumn. Such anticipation. And the great thing about Autumn was that June was getting better after 6 months of trial.
