I write what I feel…

Meanderings

My mind meanders like a river

‘Cross polished stones and burnished sand

Feels the ripples of the water

Running o’er my burning hand

Where the sun has warmed my bloodstream

The liquid gently damps it down

And my fingers dribble slowly

Wash away my mental frown

I am a middle-aged South African woman, living in Johannesburg. I began writing poetry towards the end of May 2010. I love animals – sometimes more than people!

  4. To me the mind not only meanders but holds the capacity to explode and project thoughts all around. So if were to endeavour to ” wash away the mental frown”, we need to do a 360 degree cleansing of our past regrets and future concerns.
