Earth –
Beautiful flower of the universe
A veritable Garden of Eden
Poison ivy slithers in the undergrowth
Profuse and suffocating
A struggle to take breath
To hold onto life
Until death
Retaliation and vengeance
Will not save my soul
Only acceptance will keep me whole

Oh Denise, I had a mighty battle with Poison Ivy twenty-six years ago when David and I bought the property to build our home. I am very allergic and the ivy was up the trees, underground, everywhere. I nearly ended up in the hospital.

I am so sorry to hear that, Maxi. It must have been quite a job to get rid of. 🙂
