Adeeyoyo's Blog

I write what I feel…

The Collector

Day of peace, thankfulness and worship

What better day for

The collector and his cronies

To be out and about

Dressed in their Sunday best

Donning a hat and a pious face

Who would suspect

They are there to collect…

Souls of the sad, souls of the malcontent

Souls of the dissident

Souls all alone

Souls seeking a home –

EnGarde, beware –

They are there in disguise

Hunting and hounding

Seeking and stalking

Dissecting…, collecting…

  1. Sounds so ominous in a sense, Adee. Well written as usual.

  2. A novel (and slightly chilling take on the Sabbath. I like it. (And let’s see if this comment will:

    a) Appear on your site;

    b) Generate your reply in my E-mail’s inbox.

  3. Well, it has appeared here, at least.

  4. Collectors of souls, does sound very sinister, adee. How does one recognise them if they are in disguise?

  5. Fantastic as usual 🙂 Enjoyed reading this!

  6. Sounds like religious zealots on the prowl. 😉

  7. chilling and mysterious Denise. I wonder what provoked that one?

    • Seeing hypocrites going to church on Sundays and being really evil and spiteful during the week, John. Nice to see you back again. Hope you and June are keeping well.

      • Thank you, Denise. There is never any excuse for hypocrisy.!
I have now completely dried up as far as poetry is concerned. I am sure the muse will return one day, but just now I am using BLURB to do a book of my efforts so far!
But I do not forget to visit your site.
        Thanks again

        • I will miss you, John. Sometimes we do need a break from writing and I look forward to your return to the blogs. Thanks for continuing to visit my site, although lately I seem to be inconsistent with my topics and inspiration. I wish you the best of luck with BLURB. God bless both you and June. Much love, Denise

  8. well that is rather haunting…and they are always there…we should be ever vigilant…they will show up when we least expect it…

  9. This is an interesting subject of a sinister nature…. not sure I fully get this one… well written though…
