I write what I feel…

Without Love

We’ll never get to heaven
Without love
All the monies spent
Don’t even make a dent
Without love

We’re cut from a different design
Originals all
Each had an umbilical cord
Was tied to mom’s apron strings
Followed by dad’s purse strings

Then our heart strings lead us
Towards the Ideal
A Model to emulate, to imitate
But we can’t buy our way to heaven
Without love

  1. That is beautiful adee.

  2. We look for love
    Meanwhile love
    Is looking
    So patiently
    For us

  3. Adee… this is not only so true, it is so beautifully written as well…

  4. nice…love is def the currency of heaven…and of earth….far more than any monies can buy

  5. tell that to my brother, who’s convinced that once you’re “born again” you can do anything at all and be forgiven (ie, go to heaven)…

we can’t buy our way to heaven
    Without love

…and with love, we don’t have to buy our way anywhere (if only people would realize)

    Love this, Denise…

  6. All so very true!

  7. Lovely writing, adee. This reminded me of that Beatles’ song, “All you need is love.” It really gave the world a clear message in 1967. 🙂

  8. Nice concept here. The language is lovely and I like your use of ‘strings’ as a device. I enjoyed this, thank you.
